DRUIDS LODGE – ROBERTSON MUSEUM

The house in Paul Kruger Street was built in 1860. The English family owned Druids Lodge from 1883. Mr. English’s widow lived in the house until her death in 1924. Violet English, the last surviving member of the family, lived here till she died in 1976.

Druids Lodge was declared a National Monument in 1977.

It reflects the social and cultural history of Robertson and the house has been chiefly furnished in the late 19th century period.

The Annex was built in 1980, housing important archives, and includes the Barry Room, used as an exhibition and conference room and includes an on-going exhibition of the history of Robertson.

A wonderful old garden with antique roses and herbs surrounds the Museum
